GameGrit

Terms of Service

This document reflects how GameGrit works today and is pending final legal review.

1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility

GameGrit ("we," "us," "our") provides a youth-sports team-management platform for coaches, parents/guardians, and athletes. By creating an account or using GameGrit, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy.

Who may use GameGrit:

  • Adults (18 and older) create their own accounts. Coaches and parents/guardians must be adults.
  • Athletes aged 13–17 may hold their own accounts. We encourage a parent or guardian to link to the account so they can help oversee it.
  • Children under 13 may not use GameGrit. GameGrit has a minimum age of 13, enforced on every path an athlete can enter the platform — self-signup, roster invites, and family invites alike. If we learn that a child under 13 has information on GameGrit, we will delete it promptly, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use GameGrit.

2. Accounts & Roles

GameGrit has four roles: club director, coach, parent/guardian, and athlete. Your role determines what you can see and do.

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Give accurate information about yourself and keep it current.
  • Keep your password private and not share your login.
  • Take responsibility for activity that happens under your account.

Tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account. You may not create an account for anyone else except a child you are the parent or guardian of, as described in Section 3.

3. Parents, Guardians & Minors

If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for how the minors (age 13–17) in your care use GameGrit.

  • You can review the information we hold about your child, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it at any time.
  • You can ask us to close your child's account whenever you want. Closing the account deletes their information, on the terms set out in our Privacy Policy.

Nothing in these Terms takes away a parent's rights under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or applicable state law.

4. Acceptable Use

GameGrit exists to help teams run a season safely. When you use it, you agree not to:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse anyone.
  • Misuse the platform to contact, groom, or exploit a minor. Adults may not use GameGrit to reach children outside the legitimate coaching or family relationship the platform is built for.
  • Impersonate another person, a coach, a club, or GameGrit.
  • Post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful.
  • Scrape, copy, reverse-engineer, or probe the service, or try to pull data out of it in bulk.
  • Get around role-based access, privacy settings, or any security control — or help anyone else do so.

We take youth-safety violations seriously. See Section 7 for what happens when someone breaks these rules.

5. User Content

You keep ownership of the content you upload — photos, videos, messages, notes, evaluations, and anything else you add.

To run the service, you give GameGrit a limited license to store, display, and transmit your content to the people who are supposed to see it (for example, showing a team photo to that team). This license exists only so the product works; we do not sell your content, and we do not use it for advertising.

For minors, the parent or guardian controls the child's content on the terms described in our Privacy Policy. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share, and do not upload another person's child's photo or information without their parent's permission.

6. Payments

Some clubs collect dues and fees through GameGrit.

  • Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. GameGrit does not store your full card number.
  • Clubs set their own dues amounts, deadlines, and refund policies. GameGrit provides the tool; the club decides the money.
  • You are responsible for the fees your club charges you. Questions about a specific charge or refund should go to your club first.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the in-app Settings screen. What happens to your data when you do — including special handling for a sole guardian of a minor — is described in our Privacy Policy (see its section on account deletion).

We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms. Youth-safety violations — anything that endangers a minor — can result in immediate removal without warning, and we may report conduct to the appropriate authorities where the law requires or allows it.

8. Disclaimers

GameGrit is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Please understand what GameGrit is and is not:

  • It is a team-management and communication tool. It is not a supervision service, a background-check service, or an emergency service.
  • It does not verify the identity, fitness, or safety of coaches, clubs, or other users. Clubs and families are responsible for their own vetting.
  • Medical and emergency information fields are a convenience for parents to store details they choose to enter. GameGrit does not provide medical advice, and this information is not a substitute for professional care or for calling emergency services.

Do not rely on GameGrit in an emergency. Call your local emergency number.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GameGrit is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

Until governing law and dispute terms are finalized with counsel, disputes will be handled in good faith between you and GameGrit.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms as GameGrit evolves. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email and in-app notice at least 30 days before the change takes effect, mirroring the notice commitment in our Privacy Policy. Continuing to use GameGrit after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
